Toad looked up just in time to see Rilla's face drop down to her toes, mimicking his earlier actions. Without even thinking, he swept jagged bangs 'way from his hazel eyes, all the while -- he found himself watching Rilla intently. She had sounded so genuinely scared, that it had instantly placed a strange sort of desire within him. The desire to protect her, and to tend to whatever demons were chasing her... But then again, he would have felt that way towards any girl that had just went through the blasted events that Rilla just had... Wouldn't he? Stepping forwards a step, Toad placed one minimally-callused finger 'neath her perfectly curved chin and gently tilted it upwards. He hated to see her looking down... "I don't know, Rilla... But, please just let me give you a ride home? It'd make me feel alot better..." He didn't know why, but he free hand gently swept 'way through locks that had edged their 'way past her ear. In silence, Toad was trying to fix things... To make everything better. Toad was trying to be the band-aid, to the wound that had formed that very night.
