In reply to: Tex 's message, "you don't know how much." on Sat, Oct 11 2003, 5:32pm PDT

In less then a minute, the attack began. Before Liam could even get out a simple hello to greet his parents, his Mother was pouncing onto both himself and Tex -- in one of the most fierce hugs one could ever experience. And that was Mrs. Burbank for you... She was the type of woman who'd through a funeral for a pesky housefly that had died, and who (she'd claim) had been part of the family. Smelling of baby powder, she smacked two sweet kisses onto her son's cheek, and gave Tex an extra hug, obviously overjoyed to have them here. After the woman in her mid-fifties had pulled back, she motioned for the two to come inside, "It's cold out there, kids... Come in, c'mon... Yes, you too, Tex... Out of the cold. Let me get a good look at you..." For about half a second, Mrs. Burbank looked over her child, and his lady-friend, and then ushered them into the kitchen while crooning, "Well... you poor dears... You must be cold. I mean, look at Liam's cheeks; bright red I tell you! Yes, come in and get some cocoa... Mama will warm you two up..." As Liam tugged Tex after him into the kitchen, he gave her a bit of an embarassed smile. This was his life, and allowing Tex to see how he lived made him feel... well, a little vulnerable. I mean, what if she didn't like this? What if she... didn't like any of it; his parents, the house, the drapes? What would he do then? "I'll show you around after the meet-and-greet type thing that my Mom always seems to enjoy a little too much..." Liam promised 'fore accepting a steaming cup of Cocoa from his mother's gentle hands.
