By not publishing on Memorial Day and July 4, the Post-Gazette caused me -- for the first time EVER -- to pick up the Tribune-Reciew on the newsstand. It turned out to be a reasonable substitute.

Now, with the PG's price rising 33% to $2 yesterday, I have become a T-R customer (still just 75 cents!). It is not that I can't afford $2; I will not pay $2 for the sorry shadow of a newspaper the PG has become. And forget the atrocious PG web site.

Bye-bye Johnny Block et al. You have sunk to the level of your competition.
