Author: good luck to all of the hometown boys in Baytown
Subject: to be accurate there mr enuf, anybody WITH THE BUCKS can buy a car, lease a engine program, & qualify in the top 1/2 of the PS field. For a competitive bullet expect to spend 1.5 million per season. That's what separates the haves from the have nots. The days of a group of good ol boys running PS out of their wallet is long gone for the majority of us.
In reply to: enuf said 's message, "Naiser and Lump both tried Pro Stock trucks. That was enuf for them both. It takes big $$ and knowledge to run with the elite. Don't get me wrong, Naiser makes some hp but Lump is the man when it comes to making power. Niether would be able to compete in Pro Stock. Nickens paid his dues and makes the horsepower. That is why he is still racing Pro class cars instead of Sportsman classes. Anyone can buy a motor and race sportsman classes." on Friday, March 21, 06:21:39pm

[> [> [> [> [> EVERYONE quit running prostock truck because NHRA pulled the plug it wasnt voluntary. If you had spent that kind of money to build a truck and R&D motors 24/7 then to have a knife stuck in your back by NHRA would you want to continue supporting them? If you think David Nickens is building pro stock engines out of his back pocket you sir are highly misinformed. Rodger Brogdon quit running pro stock after only qualifying at the 1st 2 races then DNQed at every one after that. He quit because he wasnt going to do it out of his own pocket. He had said from day 1 that if a sponsor deal didnt come through he would pull the plug and that is exactly what he did. Another thing he said was if a sponsor deal comes through in the future he would go back but it damn sure wouldnt be with Nickens. If it was to happen look for ole Dave to have some local competition on who can build the baddest pro stock motors. and these guys are already building the baddest comp motors around -- we shall see wont we, Saturday, March 22, 06:54:17am [1]
