ln the infinite time-span of the Iaijitsu duel, there could only be three outcomes. Draw, and success; Draw, and failure; Or stalemate - both sides accessing fully the other, and realizing that neither has the potential to escape unscathed. It was Detrik's mind that first precieved a weakness in Ikari's defence, or so it seemed. He moved, and life handed him option two.

The Sidhe moved with superhuman speed - a physical speed far beyond Ikari's, the Satyr's subconscious noted - and within an instant was in a broad-legged stance, long sword screaming as it flew from it's sheath. Physical speed, however, was not much concern to one who could see minds, and predict movement. In this game of Iaijitsu, Ikari had succeeded. Edo took a half-pace forward, directly under the the potential strike path of his opponent's sword, and slashed him accross the midsection as both warriors stepped past each other. The blow was good - a normal man would lay with his guts in a pile of death on the ground from such a blow, were that normal man not shorn in two. Detrik's armor was, however, doing it's job admirably.WIth a great shower of sparks to show it, it deflected almost one hundred percent of the slash... although, Ikari's spiritual blade was not an ornament. The spirit's within had a very distinct purpose, they added their own power when he commanded, and slashed through with the accuracy of the zen mind. This translated to the fact that when Edo would slash, there would be a simultaneous slash with his - but on a more spiritual level. No armor could defend the spiritual slash, which was duly noted by the warm blood that the Sidhe felt spreading throughout his torso-plate - seconds before the burning pain of a dozen lacerations was felt. In an instant Edo was in a downward stroke, aiming for the exposed back of his opponent's skull. The Sidhe's skill was not an exaggeration, Edo gathered, as the knight managed to spin completely around, like a top, and parry hard the Samurai sword. As the two spiritual blades collided, sparks rained through the air - and energy cackled between the two with high intensity. The room was lit up for an instant, as if a flash-bulb had gone off.

Though imperceptable at the time to either warrior, in that instant of flash a great battle was waged between the blades. The spiritual armies of both clashed on a cataclysmic level in another plane... a war full of casualties, sorrow, honor and glory was over in an matter of a quarter of a second. Venerassa, The Knight's blade of spirits, lost that battle. She would retreat, with her captive spirits, to lick their wounds... leaving only enough magic behind to keep the blade's structual capacity. Edo's family had bought him an advantage, though fate only knew if it would be enough.

Detrik followed through with his parry, slashing hard and fast with a wide-horizontal slice. Ikari knew a parry was impossible at the angle he was in, so he drew upon the glamour in himself and launched his body in a high flip to the right. As he landed, goat-hooves clacking and sliding slightly on the Marble floor, it was obvious the Lord of this manor had much strength in his sword arm: There was a wide opening in the left leg of Edo's Hakama, and a badly gashed wound painted his hair-covered leg crimson.
