Addo thought about it for a moment, then smiled to Elaine.

"I think you will be quite surprised what I am capable of dear lady."

Addo pulled out a fetching coin purse that he had taken earlier, putting it into her hand. Why don't you hang on to this for me at that table over there, maybe fetch us a couple drinks. I will join you quickly, no doubt about that. He winked to her, and watched her as she walked away, admiring the view. He grinned to himself, and strode over to the bar.

"Im looking for the owner of this fine establishment."

An older gentleman, working at something behind the bar turned around and looked Addo over suspiciously. "That would be me, son...what do you want?"

"Ah! Excellent, Excellent. My name is Thaddious Bartelby, and I am travelling around the county searching for the right Candidates. You see, the lovely town of Rhell is planning to have a beauty pagent soon, and as I was traveling by, I noticed your lovely daughter, and would like to interview her, to get to know here a bit better to see if she qualifies as a Candidate." Addo spoke quickly, thinking on his feet before Mr. Lather could object, continuing. "Of course, she has the beauty their is no doubt about that, she is quite fetching, but according to the rules of the contest, it is one of personality and talent as well. I am sure she has both of those, but I must be certin. I understand this might all seem rather strange to you, and 1000 gold prize money is surely nothing to a man of your stature, but I do hope you allow her to have this opprotunity. Of course sir, I must speak to her alone, and you must not inform her, or others, of the pagent, as the rules of the pagent clearly state that revelation of a canidate or proof that a canidate or immediate family has leaked the infomation of the contest out, before it is announced publicly, is cause for immediate disqualification. We wouldn't want that to happen of course, this could be a great opprotunity for her."

Addo smiled confidently to Mr. Lather again. "So its alright if I pull her away from work for a bit to speak with her? Her time is covered of course."
