Innis gritted his teeth as the carriage made its way through the woods. Trying to recline as well as he could, the Morlock felt a deep sense of discomfort at leaving the city. The Baron had better have vast resources for Innis to be able to work anything in these horribly primitive conditions...it was unlikely that even a steam carriage could navigate these woods!

Absently, to take his mind off his surrounding, Innis reached an arm, easily five feet long, deep into his bag and removed a thick ledger and a self-inking pen. Opening to a marked page he began to write down specific points about the area and the costs for moving materials from the city. If the Baron WAS interested in his services then this would be a very, very profitable endeavor indeed.

Now that he thought about it, actually, these woods provided an enormous amount of building materials. If the Baron's estate was civilized then there might be something that could be done with it. OF course, why the fool didn't just move into the city was well beyond Innis' conjecture.

As Caer Avallach loomed ahead of them, Innis sighed and slipped his ledger away. Profit, he hoped. Profit.
