I joined his Facebook site as a 'fan', but noticed out of all the fans listed, mine was theonly one that the 'Add as a Friend' block or whatever it says in that block was not next to my name!! What did I do wrong. Anyway -- do you think he gets these messages and is it him, personally, responding?!
The reason that there is an "add as a friend" button next to all those people is because they are not on your personal friends list. If you know one of them, you can click that button and it will send a friend request to that person. The reason you don't have that option is because you can't add yourself as your own friend. You did everything right.

Thanks, JAG Junkie for this info -- Facebook scares me anyhow and I am a bit tech challenged. I also don't want all my friends and family (esp my DH!!) on Facebook who see my Wall and other correspondences to see that I still REGULARLY keep up on DJE and his doings -- they tease me mercilessly about it because I am normally not the type AT ALL to engage in fanatic activities of any kind -- I'm still trying to diagnose why I'm still at it myself!!!
