It just doesn't work when you are transferring really big stuff (like a folder full of video files). BTW--I have moved my bookmarks all over the place. Inside" on 17:05:38 02/14/07 Wed

If you organized your bookmarks in Netscape or Mozilla and are exporting and importing to another Netscape or Mozilla, then everything should work fine (since Netscape is really just a jazzed up version of Mozilla). However, if your bookmarks are from Netscape or Mozilla, and you are importing them into Internet Explorer, it will try to alphabetize them and mess them up from the way you had them organized. And IE doesn't like "&" symbols on bookmark imports from N or M either.

And if you are using the newest version of IE, I'm not sure how to even import your bookmarks. It doesn't work at all the way old IE did, and I gave up before I got to the importing bookmarks part (see my rant above).

The reason (actually, one of many) that I prefer Netscape and Mozilla is the Personal Bookmarks Toolbar feature. If your bookmarks are organized into folders, you can copy them in a personal bookmarks folder and then all your folders will appear across the top of the page. It's like each bookmark folder is a drop down menu. You can't get any easier than that!

[> [> [> I use Firefox almost exclusively. I do have way more bookmarks on my desktop and I'm pretty sure the laptop's bookmarks are all bookmarked on my desktop already. It's just the organization of them! I share the desktop with others so I try and hide some of the bookmarks so the others don't click on them. It's just lazyness in not putting in the line dividers and re-organizing them. -- Sarahsue, 16:58:45 02/15/07 Thu [1]

[> [> [> [> You can export them from Firefox and they will stay organized the same way. Just go to Bookmarks, then Organize Bookmarks. Once it opens up, go to File, then export. Wherever you export them to, they will stay in the same order as the way you have them in Firefox. -- JJ (Ronda), 19:11:10 02/15/07 Thu [1]
