All of it came from taxpayers one way or another. People still do not understand that their pocketbooks fuel everything one way or another.

We are not aware of what actions all people took, take or did not take. Many of us make such assumptions. We are wrong to do so.

Gene is active in things all over the county. I know. We work together on some issues and are opponents on other issues. NOT just SLC stuff.

If you do not see us it means you are not there.

Funny Ned, I haven't seen you or any others of the crowd at any of the local affairs, only at functions which are within your crowd. That's not getting involved in the community just your own group. So why would I want to join something so selfish?

You don't see me because you aren't there. I've been slacking off a bit on going to the CC meetings of late, because others go and report on them for me - but I still bet that I have been to far more - probably ten times as many - in the last year as you have. I've never seen you at a single one.

I didn't see you at any of the meetings on the library either, and I haven't seen you at the weekly peace/support our troops vigil on the 7th Street Park, just to name a few more.

I haven't seen you much of anywhere, getting involved in much of anything Gene. Why is that? So much easier to sit behind your desk and snipe at others, eh?

Yeah - right.

I do lots of important things too, but I do them in secret and I'm so modest I'm not going to tell you what they are. But I will tell you that they are important and I do lots and lots of them.

Sorry about that - but - If you are actually getting things done, then you have a right to talk about the issues that are important to you and what you have accomplished - and what you intend to accomplish. In fact, you have a duty to get those issues all the attention you can.

My point was that Gene - and Tom - spend hours criticizing the proposals others put forward for discussion and hopefully eventual action - while they put forward exactly zero themselves.

They are great at denigrating others' aspirations, but not very good at talking about where they would like to see the region go and how they think it ought to get there. I haven't seen a single positive proposal from either one of them (except the proposal to "build the plant" and that was neither positive - IMHO - nor was it "theirs" - they were just parroting the Company line).

Have you? Please show me the evidence. I want to believe that Tom and Gene are something more than simply "nattering Nabobs of negativity" (to quote Spiro Agnew) but I need evidence. If you have it, I beg you to produce it.

Same for Gene and TK. They do not brag so you accuse them of apathy. Good job.

As far as proof that TK knows or does not know, is or is not, history? I have listened to and read many people's words. I have my opinion. Well informed wisdom on this subject. There is too much to post here and I don't feel obligated as most would be (inappropriately) negated on this board anywhoooooo.

In any case, he is innocent until proven guilty. Historical until proven not.

The burden of proof is on the accuser/doubter.

Until your current mood is gone..the current and apparent snit, no more wasteful posting by me, for now, really I quit.

P.S. You would do well to not be so disrespectful to your elders. What comes around goes around. For every action comes an equal or greater reaction. What you sow you reap.

I would suggest that it might be someone other than me.

As I pointed out above - I was making a humorous comment - but you choose to take it seriously and analyze and criticize it as if it were a seriously argued position paper!! Where is that coming from?

But in my opinion that is just a cop-out for your inability to post anything of substance on this issue. I know you can't give me a single instance where anything anyone has posted on this board has been "negated" - unless you mean that I do provide facts and clear-thinking to counter the mis-statements, misundertandings, muddled-thinking and sometimes, I'm sad to say, downright lies that some choose to post.

Don't you want to see such mis-information corrected? Do you consider that the presentation of ideas different from your own somehow "negates" what you post?

The idea of the "marketplace of ideas" - of which this is one small "shop" - is that competeing ideas are presented, and we have a chance to hear all sides, examine the suppositions, chains of evidence and logic on which they are based, and make up our own minds which makes the most sense to us. Isn't that a good idea?

Nevertheless Tom Koulos made/lived/knows history. He has been an activist for many years and not just here.

He ran for mayor. Successfully won a legal battle with the city. Served in so many different capacities I can not count them all.

That is what I mean by too much to post. AND when I suggested you may not know what TK does/did you asked for ...whatever, forget it.

I respect Tom's past accomplishments as much as you do. But the point I was making in this thread was that he and Gene complain all the time and tear down the efforts of those who are trying to do (right or wrong) something for Hudson, to make it a better place to live - but they don't put forward any ideas (in the present) or work toward - as far as I can see - any kind of positive future.

As I said before, I'd like to be wrong about this. If I am, please supply some evidence. Thanks.

It looks like the original post was not a question but an accusation. Generally, in our society, the burden of proof stands with the accuser. You accuse Gene of inaction. I ask for proof. I ask you, the accuser.

Gene is working on easement issues in the county. He has been at meetings around the county. BTW? I knew about the college course in this stuff and what it was all about because of Gene. Gene's contributions in different places contributed to the education of many of us about many issues.

Just to name something from the last two months? ^ Up there, named it already.


Now no more unsubstantiated claims from you, my friend. If you can do it, why then, TK can do it tu-------tu.

BTW #1,567,849,385,756,452,342,315,374 Most of us do not have a brag book. However, you might want to start a blog to cite your stuff ---since you find the stating of such so important?
