DAWN Apparently weird things happen around my family and me… VI Your family? DAWN He got into woods “staff” profiles during detention VI Yikes DAWN I’ll get over it WILLOW Hey! Aren’t you guys supposed to be in class? VI / DAWN Free period / Lunch DAWN Lunch is a free period WILLOW I’m cutting class too, I have Freshman, they have bad spelling Buffy comes running down the corridor, stopping with alert as she sees the guys BUFFY I was just, I was going to the bathroom WILLOW The outside bathroom? BUFFY Freshman? WILLOW Yep. Class cutters? BUFFY Sandy Quentin. Cordelia squared WILLOW Hey she’s supposed to be in my class (oh) Which I am cutting and so she can be where she likes to be BUFFY Dawn what are you doing here? Xander comes stomping down the stairs and slumps himself down on the chair by Kennedy BUFFY I have to go back to work sometime, these kids need therapy, they go to Sunnydale! XANDER What? No, I didn’t get the contract BUFFY Oh ANDREW Poor Xander! Andrew comes running from behind the counter and hugs Xander over his shoulders. ANDREW There, there little one, let it all out. Would you like a muffin? Xander flings Andrew’s arms off XANDER Stop it! And, yes please Andrew smiles and wonders over to the Muffin tray WILLOW Sweetie, there’ll be other jobs GILES Yes it’s not the end of the world, there’s still plenty of work needs doing round here…like I was thinking of getting new windows XANDER Replacing Windows? Am I asleep? Is this that recurring nightmare again? GILES No need to get snotty Giles wonders over to the muffin tray. BUFFY What did they say? XANDER Three guesses KENNEDY You can’t work because of your not having an eye WILLOW Kennedy KENNEDY What? XANDER Got it in one Xander takes a bite out of his muffin as Willow gives Kennedy a disapproving look and Buffy looks around not knowing what to say. CUT TO. INT – PRINCIPAL WOODS OFFICE – DAY DAWN You wanted to see me? PRINCIPAL WOOD Take a seat Dawn DAWN Is this about the hooky because you gave me permission and you can’t take that back PRINCIPAL No, no quite the opposite, it’s actually about your test scores DAWN Hey, I spent most of the final’s in a house full of thirty girls I have my excuses PRINCIPAL Apparently you don’t need to make them DAWN I’m expelled? PRINCIPAL Dawn, calm down – geez now I know it’s genetic. The school board have been impressed with your understanding of science and languages, obviously unlike me they don’t know where that came from, but, either way they’ve asked me to make you an offer DAWN What kind of offer? PRINCIPAL They’ve asked me to challenge you, to stimulate your mind DAWN Pop quiz? PRINCIPAL What would you say to graduating in just six months? DAWN Yay? PRINCIPAL What if I told you that this Friday could be your last day as a Junior and that, starting Monday you’ll be advanced to the senior class DAWN (speechless) END OF PART ONE EXT – GRAVE YARD – NIGHT Buffy, Vi and Kennedy are walking through the grounds at the dark of night. KENNEDY Question, why are we here when there’s no people to protect? BUFFY Answer (thinks) After a year or so you’ll learn that nothing makes sense so you just stick to routine KENNEDY But… BUFFY I know. None of it’s logic but at least this way we stop them from even having the chance to find people to harm Vi is thrown to the ground as a Vampire leaps from the tree and knocks her down. He vampire spin kicks Kennedy in the face and swings from a tree branch bringing her feet into Buffy’s face and knocking her against a tomb stone. KENNEDY What the… Kennedy launches at the Vampire (We’re gonna call her Daisy) swinging two switchblades through the air. She tears it’s arm open but is quickly thrown into a tree, head first. Buffy runs at her but it knocked straight back with her own weapon. Vi grabs a stake and slams it towards Daisy, she ducks it and pins Vi up against a tree before stopping instantly and running away. BUFFY Where did she go? VI I…I don’t know CUT TO. INT – SUMMERS HOUSE – NIGHT Spike comes wondering down the stairs, expecting to be alone he’s wearing nothing in the way of clothes. Yawning having just woken up. He wonders through to the kitchen to find Willow WILLOW Whoa SPIKE Sorry Spike remains casual, he’s not one to embarrass easily. He just grabs a tea towel and holds it in front of himself as he grabs a glass of blood from the refrigerator He smiles and nods as he wonders back to the stairs. Minutes later as he steps out of his room (now wearing pants) he heads to the bathroom stopping in shock at Dawn’s bedroom door. Willow turns up the stairs carrying a tray of milk and cookies. She drops them as her eyes widen WILLOW Did I drink funny milk? SPIKE Not unless I drank it too. What is that? Both of them look in astonishment at the amazing green light coming from beneath the door. Willow taps gently and waits a moment before entering. Both again stare in shock at the sight ahead of them. Dawn’s skin is split in several places as if she were clay and she’d been dropped. From the cracks the green light appears WILLOW We have to find Buffy SPIKE Are you mad? We can’t tell Buffy about this until we know what it is WILLOW I’d say it’s something more than mumps SPIKE I’d say my chip isn’t the only thing that wasn’t meant to last this long Both stare at each other with fear and confusion. CUT TO. INT – XANDERS APARTMENT – NIGHT ANDREW Cheer up Yogi XANDER Will you stop calling me that? ANDREW But you’re our Xander bear! XANDER Xander bear’s feeling growly today ANDREW Ouch! Hey why don’t you go and see Nancy then you can growl in a good way XANDER No, I’m not going to do that ANDREW Why not? Is this because of Anya? Because remember her letter…she’ll haunt you if you forget her, but she’ll haunt you even more if you end up a lonely old man living with Andrew, um, living with me and never moving on. Plus you’ve exceeded her time span XANDER She had a time span? ANDREW She allowed three month’s of heavy grieving, then a month of light treading (beat) It’s November 8th, that’s like almost six months. XANDER Strangely her schedule isn’t working out too well for me ANDREW If you don’t get your butt out of the house then that just means there’ll be twice as many Yogi hugs! XANDER Okay, I’m gone! CUT TO. INT – MANOR – NIGHT Vi is sat up in the main room, the other six remaining slayers (two new arrivals) are in bed. BUFFY Something you want to tell me Vi turns in shock to see Buffy standing behind her VI What are you doing here? It’s three a m BUFFY I’m curious as to why that vampire ran away from you VI I had a stake BUFFY I had an axe and a reputation VI Guess it didn’t like red heads? BUFFY Don’t be cute Vi. Something’s wrong with you and I need to know what it is so I can help you VI Right, I forgot you’re a super hero and you can help everyone with everything BUFFY I never said that, but fine, I can’t help you if you won’t help me Buffy begins to walk away as Vi begins to cry Buffy walks back, not moving her facial expression. When the monks created Dawn, when they built her they were lead to believe that if Glory didn’t use Dawn, the slayer would terminate her existence upon Glory’s defeat to avoid any temptation of Glory’s return SPIKE But she’s not even the key anymore! EXT – ESPRESSO PUMP – DAY Nancy looks around waiting patiently for Xander. He’s sat in the car on the opposite side of the street, watching her. ANDREW Get out or I’ll make a scene XANDER Okay, deep breath ANDREW You’ll do fine! Just don’t open it with a joke that’ll almost certainly turn her into a demon and get you kidnapped XANDER Got it. Oh god I’m getting dating advice from the virgin ANDREW Always assuming XANDER What? ANDREW Go! END OF PART THREE INT – SUMMERS HOUSE – NIGHT Willow is reading over the blood test results she doesn’t look happy. Kennedy enters and sits down in Willow’s light WILLOW Kennedy you’re in my light KENNEDY Sorry WILLOW Can you please move? Kennedy moves quietly KENNEDY Buffy doesn’t like me does she? WILLOW Not now sweetie KENNEDY Right, scooby stuff Willow ignores her KENNEDY Why do you keep ignoring me? I’m trying to tell you something and it’s like it doesn’t matter WILLOW (Stressed) Because despite what you were bought up to believe, you’re not the centre of the universe! Kennedy is obviously taken back WILLOW I’m sorry I didn’t mean that KENNEDY Right Sad, Kennedy backs away to the door WILLOW Kennedy Willow runs down the stairs after her. No it is NOT true! You’re making this up SPIKE Buffy… BUFFY Don’t touch me! God what is with you people…this is sick WILLOW Buffy I know, it’s wrong and it shouldn’t happen but… BUFFY It won’t happen! I won’t let it even if I have to die again GILES Buffy that’s not possible, it’s not about the blood BUFFY No, no it’s not about the blood it’s about all of you lying to me and doing things behind my back it’s about my sister! I am kinda hoping Kennedy decides she needs to leave and be elsewhere..but that's the evil me talking :) Much with the likeing of this series.

There has already been glowing and rusting for quite a while. The mystery deepens about how they will solve it. I'll really need a drink if they don't solve it. I like the development of Vi with having to dust her vamp!sister. Buffy's right. That kind of decision is what a Slayer has to do. Kennedy is another story. There she goes again taking a negative attitude. When she gets pushed aside, it looks from here like she deserves it. Good story. Now get on with the cliffhangy Dawn stuff.

I loved the bit with them all playing hooky. Very cute... I liked the stuff between Willow and Spike as well. And poor Dawn. I'm looking forward to seeing how you resolve the fact that Dawn is crumbling.
