Subject: Modifying the constitution...?

Modify the constitution because it is basically a legal contract? That is the dumbest thing I believe I have ever heard.
The constitution is not just a 'legal contract'. It is the basis of our nation and the foundation by which we perpetuate ourselves as Americans. If you "modify" that document, you change this country, and not necessarily for the better.
There is a diffence between "amending" and "Modifying."
We amend when its a good thing (with the exception of the prohibition. That was a bad idea and America learned its lesson and repealed it.)
But modifying the constitution the way this so-called "patriot" act determines is not only self-destructive for this nation... it is seditious. Those who support it are traitors, pure and simple. Anyone who supports undermining the document which this nation was founded upon and defined by ...those people are the true traitors and ironically (compared to the Act's name) the most UN-patriotic.
My family has been in defense of this nation in every war before this one, all the way back to our war for Independence. And I will be damned if I allow my ancestors' struggles, to win and maintain liberty and freedom, die at the hands of a cocaine-using, drunk-driving, greedy, spoiled, rich Texas oil brat who cares nothing for anyone but himself or his pack of oil-corp/ceo buddies.
Anyone who argues for the validity of the patriot act or the just means by which Bush reigns shoot be placed in front of a firing squad for treason.
Pure and simple.
If this offends you, then I guess you better check you ethics and loyalty real quick.
We are citizens and defenders of this nation... not one spoiled little rich kid destroying it.
