If you fail to learn the roots of a situation, you are not capable of offering valid opinions on the subject.

Remember that Israel was born out of a concensus by the world community and their existence was ratified by the UN. The arabs united to destroy Israel and fought (and LOST) several wars trying to drive them from the Middle East. It was the arabs defying the world community then and they are still at it.
Throughout, the Israeli's were forced to defend themselves and are still under attack by radical arab elements.
The Israelis are in control and charge of areas occupied by Palestinians because they were attacked and defended themselves in a war and were in posession of those areas when the truce was declared and the borders were redrawn to represent the territories each faction was entitled to - BY THE UN!!!
The Intifada is a phoney, politcal scheme to win over world opinion and force the Israelis to turn over the lands occupied by the Palestinians.
The instigation of the Intifada was a fraud. Sharon going to Temple Mount was a convenient topic to complain about, but hardly worth going to battle over.
Their own children were plunged into the fray by the Palestinians to garner pity from the WC and get Israel condemned for their actions to try to maintain peace and order while Arafat's Palestinain Authority Police stood by and watched.
Sending bomb wearing murders into civilian targets has been another unsuccessful ploy to turn Israeli public opinion against their own leaders to stop the carnage.
As in the case of the Serbs being slaughtered by the Bosnians, the UN wants to tie the hands of the defenders and give the Palestinians free rein to murder Israelis.
