When I spoke of it being a dying art, I've noticed in our area at least, where the chenille bedspreads began its popularity and quilting was a very common thing, it appears that the younger generation is not interested in taking the time to learn anything that requires their time and/or a lot of effort. Of course that's not true of all young folks. Also, Quilting Bee's once upon a time were a frequent, common event. Now one has to search high and low to find such here. I am thrilled the art of quilting is being kept alive. And I do agree there has been a resurgence of interest now. However, in my opinion, sadly it's not as common as it once was.
