I am a typical country girl. We had tire swings, tree houses, and porch swings (still have), went barefoot (still do), fished for bass and catfish (still do), raised tadpoles to frogs, had chickens, cats, dogs, horses, cows. Yes, I can milk a cow. We ran wild in the country, picked up pecans and blackberries. We walked to the little country store to buy penny candy in those cute little brown paper candy sacks, drank root beer and chocolate soldiers. If we were really lucky we got to go to town and get a bought hamburger! We drank hot chocolate with fresh cow milk in the winter and made homemade icecream with it in the summer. We played in the hayloft eating the peanuts out of the peanut hay. We waded in the creek and drank the cold water from it. Those were the days. Although most of it I STILL do.......
