Remember that in many small towns in the South in this time period, the residents would attend which ever church had a pastor. Certainly it would have been unusual for an Episcopalian to attend a Baptist service, but I imagine that it did occur when the priest was not there. In episode 6.11, part 2,The Children's Carol, recently shown, the worship scene seemed to be Presbyterian as the congregation said "forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." Baptist (at least the Southern Baptists I know) would have said "trespasses" rather than debts. Also, I believe the former Episcopal Church in Schuyler is now a Mennonite Church.
