Subject: Senior shirt injustice

Okay. Here's the biggest, nastiest thing going around in our school. I heard this from the students involved, as well as friends. It just happened on Nov. 5th.

Two students at the High School, hereafter referred to as students A and B, made Senior '05 shirts. The front of the shirt reads "Let's get the heck out of Dodge." The back of the shirt reads "And by Dodge, I mean Midlothian, and by Heck, I mean Hell."

This shirt was observed by the staff as an insult to Midlothian (something about implying that Midlothian is Hell or something) and it has since been banned from the school. The teachers who noticed a person wearing the shirt would either ask them to either change shirts or wear the shirt inside-out. Covering the word "Hell" was not permitted, because they don't have anything against the word, they just don't like the shirt.
It is interesting to note that since the shirt was banned, every student wants one.

Later that day, a Principal approached student A and asked her to provide a list of the students who ordered the shirt so they could be suspended (against school rules AND the Constitution of our nation). Student A did not comply, and the Principal threatened to kick her off of the Honor Society and place her in AEP if she did not present the list. She still did not back down, and the Principals left it at that (note that about 72 out of 360 Seniors have bought the shirt so far).

This kind of treatment is unfair to us not only because we did nothing wrong, but also because the other classes are not being punished for their shirts. For example, the Senior '06 shirt reads "Shut up and bow down" and the Senior '07 shirt reads "Kiss my class." If the Seniors '05 are being punished for their shirts and the other classes are not, that is severely unfair to us. Either punish us all, or don't punish us at all.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this post.
