Subject: The personal preparations when going into a battle are almost like a meditation, checking and rechecking, contemplating if these may just be the last moments of your life. It must have been and still must be terrifying for soldiers making such preparations. How much worse for an officer sending men into battle, wondering if he has properly prepared and equipped them for what lies ahead.
