Folks, I just reread my whole post and I have deleted it. It seemed very negative, although I did not (and would not) diss DG or anyone else. I just decided to let this lie a bit and see what others think, I might repost later, maybe I'm being a wuss here but so be it.

Just to summarize, I was underwhelmed by Custom. To me it felt rushed (not fast like Echo but rushed like not thought out). It didn't have DG's usual brilliant depth and detail. I thought there were some inconsistencies both in facts and with LJ's character.

But having said that I DID enjoy the story. I would recommend any fan read it but I wouldn't suggest it be the first DG thing you read. I love DG's writing and I love LJ and Custom doesn't change that. I will still rush out to read Exile. I suppose one piece has to be my least favourite, this is it, that's all.
