John then said something he almost instantly regretted, it only made him feel worse when he'd realized that Jamie had first hand experience at being made to feel mastered and unclean. - I don't think it is in the book. Personally I don't think LJG could have guessed the reason for Jamie's reacting so strongly. It's enough that he *did* react that way, with a violent, almost murderous rage that will certainly keep LJG from making such remarks to him again.
