If you absolutely can't go to a salon, choose a warm brown. Some haircolor boxes will tell you whether the color is warm or cool. Stay away from ash shades. The reason is that the undertones for these shades are blue and/or green. Mix blue with the orangey tones you have and it will turn green. Shades that will mix okay: copper or golden brown since the these have orange or red undertones.
