I take the photo from an angle rather than directly in front of them?? Would being slightly to one side correct the eye problem?

Ever since I started taking pictures I have said that if I get one really good photo from each roll of film, I'll be happy. I think I got 2 from this roll, but the rest had issues, including the eyes and this is what bothers me... some photos had it but the one I posted here didn't. I just don't get it.
