Hi Chaps,

Where do you get your wigs from? I need to hide my short blonde hair so I don't look like a woman on the battlefield!

Bad news is you should not wear one. I assume that the 85eme portrays the regiment in about 1812ish. By then the whole army had had haircuts. No ponytails!

True, but some of the women with longer hair plait it and then wrap black ribbon over it, so it is all hidden, and this is allowed. We could do the same with the wigs. The problem we have in the 'band' is that we are all women, and three of us have blonde hair, and it is difficult to disguise this fact, especially with the more distinct jackets, less kit (no cartouche boxes or bayonet slings)and the fact that we're always visible right at the front. Mark (CO) suggested the wigs to us, and recommended the ones he'd seen the 9eme wearing.

How rude!! But would that be a bad thing? I think not as us women are tougher and scarier than our male soldiers and you should be thankful that you fight on the same side rather than oppose the women of the 85e on the battlefield! @:P
