They started off recording 'cover tunes', and they were about to lose their recording contact!!It was me advising Dave that the ONLY way to make it was to start recording 'original tunes', and it was an 'original song', (Mike's Glad all over) that did make them famous around the world. There then followed more original songs by Mike, Len' Den' and me, that kept them at the forefront.
When I left after the last song I wrote for the Band 'Anyway you want it', they did revert back to 'cover tunes' in the main and with their established name had success with some. But by this time Dave had enough money to start his other business's away from music and just took the easy way of recording covers, and when the 'golden goose' stopped laying golden eggs Dave pulled the shutters down.
