Dias floated, suspended in the green liquid, having been comatose for eleven years. Ryiln could not have known how grevious an error it had been to place him into sleep to recover all those years ago, afterall, she had no experience with his unique brand of empathy.
In the time that he had been dormant, his mind had expanded into realms beyond this one, had been active, seeing things that were as much beyond his understanding as his state was beyond the understanding of the healers and clerics, all of whom had counseled Zenra to let Dias die, claiming that his body and soul were forever seperated.
The clerics and healers were wrong.
Zenra had known it instinctively, had refused to allow him to die, and during that time, had made sure, with Myuler's help, that Dias would be provided for in the best way possible... the tank of liquid he now floated in was that way.
Who am I?
In the time of dormancy, the time where dreams and reality merged with infinity, he had lost his identity. He had forgotten who he was, yet, not for the first time, memories long dead rose from the depths of a pool of forgetfulness as deep and black as the deepest ocean. Faint memories of a lonely figure, faint memories of a life.
And then, infinity was gone, and the world of feeling and sensation began to come into focus.
Muscles atrophied from laying long unused sought to refuse his command, yet despite their best efforts, his force of will prevailed in a small way.
Dias' hand moved in the tank.
To those near him, a small voice whispered.
"Wake me up."
