"I am indeed most often the most opposed of any, because I know how mortals often treat that power, yet consider; Myuler is already quite powerful. He nearly rivals many lesser divinities, and what is more, he has, in eight thousand years, not chosen to abuse the power he already has," Morpheus said, turning to look out, across the room at the wall that seemed to show a galaxy forming.
"More importantly, as you know, gods can go to a place of rest when they choose, and recoup their mental strength, as well as revisit those mortals that reside in the places of rest in-between lives. He need never be without those whom he loves, need never fear the loss," Morpheus explained, turning to look at Myuler and then at Aurora. "If you fear that he would abuse his power, you need merely look at the way he lives now. He is an archmage, possibly the most powerful in over six thousand years. Many archmages choose to live in castles, choose to rule those around them. Myuler lives in a small house, where violence is not allowed. He, aside from the occasional eccentricity, treats those around him with complete honor and respect. He shows a sympathy and compassion that the years and power would have stolen away from any other."
"In the end, there can be no specific reason, no, a specific, large reason would not be enough. It is when you look at him as a whole person, that you can see what makes him worthy," Morpheus said, then sighed, "And that is why he has my full support to join the ranks of divinity... especially considering, that he would not choose that path for himself."
