"Its hard to say, the boy keeps his feelings close in, but I don't think he hates you. I think mostly, it hurt him pretty badly that you never said goodbye, or why you were going, he didn't understand," Johan said, shaking his head sadly, "I could never quite give him an answer that satisfied him, so Cyrus is probably remembering a lot of hurt right now... give him some space for a bit, this'll take some getting used to for him."

Johan knew his son fairly well, and to a point, understood him, but he also knew that his son would have to come to terms with this as best he could.
