There were times when it would have been nice to be asked what she was thinking but she didn't say anything about it. Instead she nodded and spoke quietly, eyes distant.

"What if I had been.... dead? How long would you have waited, not knowing for certain? Being alone for the rest of your life is something I would not wish on you and while I did come back and..... I would have understood if you had found someone else....someone to make you happy."
