"Don't beat yourself up", the black catling told her. The clank of armor reached his ears, and he went smoothly into action, almost instantly at the door. "If you need help..."
he whispered back to her. He opened the door, loaded crossbow in hand. Stepping out, he loosed the bolt, taking the unsuspecting guard between the eyes. He turned right, taking off silently down the corridor. There was no way they'd be able to go down by the large staircase they'd come up on. He shot down the hall, ducking quickly through an opening which lead to a small, spiraling stone staircase leading back down to the first floor. He climbed down, peeking out of the opening at the bottom. He exited, and two guards suddenly hurtled around the corner. Grimacing, the catling flicked both wrists, daggers appearing in each paw. They were too close for his crossbow... one of the guards swung his broadsword at the catling. Kurai easily dodged, then ripped around, catching the guard in the throat with his footpaw. The other guard rushed, the space between his ribs meeting Kurai's dagger. He gasped and fell, blood oozing from his wound. The black catling knelt, breifly cutting the other guard's throat. Then he was up again, continuing the mad dash to get out of the castle.
