I totally understand the feeling of relief...when things have been so tough...and friends and/or family just add to your stress...and coping...it is a relief when you know they are either, going to be ok, leave so you can focus, have something or someone else to focus on...etc. Don't feel guilty..you know you, better than anyone...and you have done more than most...with your boy...you keep saying as a child they only learned skills that were directed at preserving themselves..well, you too...learned that skill and though it can sometimes be destructive...it can also preserve what little sanity we have left.

I am hoping, he has learned enough from you...and about himself..that he doesn't go back...but if he does..I hope he realizes...how much he has changed...
