The other day on the phone he made a comment about me being too attached to my family. Uh...excuse me...but I'm not the one living with my parents and asking their permission to go somewhere. There is no way I would do that. We're adults here. We can do what we want to do and whatever consequences result are our own consequences. Mommy and Daddy's job is over once we are grown (not to mention in our 40s) How am I too attached to my family? I rarely see my dad or my older brother and sister. I work for my younger brother so I do see him. I usually go once a week to visit my mom because she's lonely after my stepfather died but in between I almost never talk to her. My son lives with me but he'll be leaving for college. I could pick up and move away from here. I've done it before. Wherever I lived I'm sure I'd want to visit my family but I don't have to be with them all the time. I'm not the one living with my parents and needing to check with them on everything. Pot...meet kettle.
