Subject: Jim called me

Jim King, the social worker I worked with at the hospital called me the other night. He is willing to see me when he gets established in his new office. The only bad thing is because he is an MSW, he can't bill my insurance. So I have to pay for it out of pocket. We talked a long time, I told him what had happened with my former therapist, and he told me that 10 years of weekly therapy was way too much, and it was obvious that he had issues with me as well. He also told me of a group that meets at St. Clair County CMH that is for people with borderline personality disorder. That is my secondary diagnosis. He said that the group is hard to get into, but with my doctors help, I may be able to get in. The group teaches to stop reacting so extremely to things and lead a more stable life. He told me that the people he has seen go through the program were frequent fliers to the psych ward, and none of them have had to come back. Sounds like something to look into anyway.

Anyway, we agreed to see each other once a month to keep in touch. Of course I can see him more if I want to, I just have to pay for it. I think this is a good alternative. I can deal with my own issues but still have a safety net when I get sick. I'm gonna try it anyway.....
