It depends. With peers I often feel snubbed. Like if someone doesn't like something I've said or they just don't approve of me, I can feel that. Unfortunately I have this sense that picks up on rejection (too sensitive) and one of my life goals is to detach from caring and care more about what I think of myself. It's a process. I have far to go. Men can be just as difficult. I find woman to be more sharing and open and willing to talk about their feelings. In terms of a therapist, I'd have to say a woman. I also agree that the sexual stuff gets tied up in relations with men. Either they want you or you're attracted to them, or both. That added layer adds excitement but clouds other things. Just my rambling thoughts.
