Subject: Update... whew!...

Okay, I have calmed down. Yesterday, when the doc came into the treatment room, he looked at me and said the blood test came back positive. My senses went into overload at the word 'positive'. I wonder why my doc and the physician assistant intern did not notice that. Jeez, I got sucked into a road rage incident today on the freeway. I lost control of my car for a second even. However, I did my 24 ¾ mile bike ride and 3 mile walk. Towards the end of bike ride I feel the endorphins kick in. What a feeling of euphoria… I feel like I can ride forever, but I don’t. After my first main meal, I took a good nap. After that I went and got my B-12 v. shot. Then, I went to get the best massage in town. Yes, my doc has diagnosed me with the autoimmune disorder: rheumatoid arthritis. I did a tiny bit of research. I will do more later. I will check out the ‘Wikipedia’ web site: thanks Liz. One web site claims it has a natural program that can put the rheumatoid arthritis in remission. I will wait until I see the rheumatologist before getting my hopes up. I might start giving some time to upper body workout as much as possible, being that I also have an inoperative larger midsection incision hernia. I am going to keep all my joints and muscles active now. I am sure that is going to be recommended. There is a billboard off to the side of the freeway that I drive to the park. It reads, “Do you have a Beaumont Doctor?” It is black background and white pronounced letters. I softly speak, “Yes, I have 20 or so.” Beaumont is short for ‘William Beaumont Hospital.” AARP ranked it in the top ten hospitals in the U.S. They have learnt about short bowel syndrome through me.

My chronic fatigue has worsened much. I sleep whenever I can. I have been sleeping constantly since finishing my last main meal of the day. I wake up after about an hour or so of sleep, do whatever for a few minutes and then go back to bed, which is what I am going to do right after posting this.

RICHARD
