We have morning doves that hoo hoo all the time. They only do it during the day though. We have a woodpecker too that attacks our trees all the time. Sounds like a jackhammer sometimes.

Our biggest problem is with starlings. They make their nests in strange places. One year, it was our mailbox, and no matter what we did to remove the nests, they would rebuild. Never any eggs though......we eventually had to get a new mailbox that shut completely. Then they moved to our LP Gas pig in the back yard. They built a nest where the fuel gauge was. Babies were born in the tank, so we couldn't go near it. Unfortunately, the babies died because the tank sits in the sun all day and the temperature inside the tank got too hot for them. It was sad.

We planted 200 trees in our yard when we moved into our house in 1987. These trees have all grown up now, and shelter us from our neighbors. We are now a haven for all kinds of birds, cardinals, blue jays, baltimore orioles, robins, starlings......and even bats. We like it because we love birds. It's fun to watch them do their dance when they are mating.....watch babies grow up and fly away. So there are good things about birds. We are lucky though...they don't interfere with our sleep.

Love,Mikki
