Vic, Cricket is nothing like Rugby League, im sure players could easily in cricket move over to be fantastic umpires in cricket, but it is alot more difficult in Rugby League. Being an ex player my self and then becoming a Rugby League Referee, was not as easy as thought.

They Probably think with these players that have become referees, that oh they will know what the players and know how to talk to them etc. WRONG, it doesnt work. I dont mind ex NRL Players becoming Referees, they might go well, but they got to slog it out like everyone else is and has. I dont mind if they do a year in a District and if they are good fast track them to Junior Reps, and once there make there way up and prove them selves like everyone else has too.
