 guys,

i can confirm that the black helmet was brought out for the playoff bowl game against the lions in miami in january 1963.

however, the only photo i can find of the game is in the washington post, and when i tried to zoom in on the picture, the image was "blocked", so i can't really tell if the word "steel" or "steelers" was used.

i will try and determine this next time i visit the library.
