In the history of Mystic literature we do not come across one single instance of a person who was able to have access to higher spiritual planes without the intermediation of a Master. Like it or not this is the universal law of the Lord. Even incarnations of Vishnu-Lord Rama, and Lord Krishna had to adopt Masters in Vashisht and Garg.

Since the learning of all human knowledge is based on the teachings of others, why then is it so hard for us to accept that we must have a teacher on the most difficult path of learning in all creation?

Let all those in the World stand up that have control of their own minds. Can you eat whenever you like, or not eat at all? Can you sleep whenever you like, or not sleep at all?
Can you go wherever you like on the planet and have no fear at all, because you see through the illusion of all life? Can you sit in one position without moving your body, and concentrate all of your mind in one place for a mere two hours? Perhaps even ten minutes?

If you think that being a good person, and having pure thoughts will get you a better life here next time, you are correct. If you think that by doing penance, or starving yourself, or becoming a monk, or a celibate, will give you a better life here next time, you are correct, but then again you will be back here my friends.

“ No man cometh unto the Father but by me”
