I forgot...

There is no set requirement in SRF for kriya checks...I was told by a minister to get them whenever inwardly directed as well as counsel. They seem to get annoyed if you call more than once every few to 6 months. Some devotees get around that by getting counsel from a few monastics they really like and rotate it. I try for an advanced person of long years on the path who I have attunement with and shows interest in me.

I know monastics used to have to see their counselor every 2 months as Yogananda also told Roy Davis to come and visit every 2 months. Kriya doesnt seem to be the focus of these sessions in general though.

Doc Lewis used to go to C.A to see Master 2x a year. Always for Convocation in August and usually for Xmas in December. It is a good example. Most try and make convocation though I like the xmas season best.

Guru did advise for the 4 periods of the day, but in lessons in general encourages for 2 sessions at 5-6 am and 9-10 pm. The other 2 sessions therefore have to be limited to 6 kriya each. Doc Lewis only did 3 sessions---he said he never misses his morn, noon and eve meditations.

In ashram of SRF they have the 4 but the lunch and the night is left to you. People arrange the techniqes differently over the 4 sessions. For most the morning is the long meditation.

I myself like to meditate 2x a day and seldom get a lunch med.
If I am in seclusion I do one long meditation.
