She wandered aimlessly through the town, her ears twitching as those passing her gossiped about the deaths that had occurred. One caught her attention, and straining her ears to catch all of it she frowned. Until a few nights ago the murders had been those unfortunate to be caught out of doors after dark. The most common victim were those who sold their bodies, people that made their living after the night had fallen, when secrets could be kept hidden in the shadows. The last one to be found dead was not found on a street or in a gutter, rather the man in question was found in his own home, in his own bed. There was no sign of forced entry, which those in front of her speculated was because of the activities that had occurred prior to the murder. This was not the norm for vampires, not any that she had ever heard of at any rate. Turning down one of the side streets, she went towards the shop that had shoes and boots displayed in the front window. She needed new footwear, and perhaps the shopkeeper could tell her more about the murders going on here. It might give her a clue as to why vampires had set up residency here.
