The day dawned, bright and fresh from the night's rain, birds sang outside the window, and there was a delectable smell coming from downstairs. Swinging her legs over the side of the bed, she sat for a brief moment before getting up to grab her hairbrush and the clothes she planned to wear for the day. She wrinkled her nose at the clothes she had worn the day before, they would have to be washed, the tiny hole in one of her socks would have to be mended as well. Brushing out her long tresses, she debated leaving it down so that it covered her slightly pointed ears. She didn't know how the people here felt about elves, or even half-elves, and she didn't really want to cause trouble. Compromising with herself, she pulled it back, but let the sides drape over her ears before being caught in a silver clasp at the nape of her neck. Pulling on the simple outfit of forest green and sliding her feet into her boots she followed her nose to the kitchen and got herself some breakfast. The bread was fresh, still warm from the oven and smothered in honey. The oatmeal was drowned in cream, and had maple syrup drizzled over it. It was gone before she knew it.
Walking outside, she listens to the folk gossip, apparently there had been several....odd murders lately. The victims were found with all of their blood drained from their body, the only marks were two small holes in the neck, as though they had been bitten and drained dry. She knew what had done it, but obviously the townspeople had no idea that vampires were in their area. So far it seemed as though only those caught outside after dark were being victimized, people that would not be found till morning because they were normally out roaming the streets after dark. Things were becoming interesting, the power flows being so odd, and now vampires, it was definately strange, and she wondered if they were connected.
