Blinking in surprise at the sudden vanishing act that both of her companions had pulled, she wondered if they would return. Looking up at the darkening sky, she heard the thrum of thunder in the distance, and could feel the sudden surge of electric energies that flooded the atmosphere. Either someone was doing a really powerful storm summoning, or else the weather here was really atrocious. In either case she was glad of the shelter she had rigged for her and Valenthe. It would hold during a storm, provided it didn't have hail stones the size of ponies dropped on it. The fire that had been banked for the night would stay lit, though she piled more stones around it so that no errant embers could set the forest ablaze. Rolling up Valenthe's bed she set it against one of the trees confined within the shelter and leaned against it. She would wait here, and hope that one or both of her companions returned, though if they hadn't returned by the time the sun was overhead she would head for the nearest village in the direction she had been traveling. That was the most she could be expected to do.
