Why can't he catch even one break? It was one thing when he was kind of this teenaged ne'er-do-well. But it's something else entirely with the whole historical rewrite of the Baby Michael scam. AJ was never the problem in that story - until Courtney came along. Carly went to great lengths to make him think he'd fallen off the wagon, after he'd been nothing but good to her, just to save her putrid relationship with her mother's husband. Jason went along with the scam to keep AJ away from Michael, uh, because? I forget. Even Robin, who always knew what was right for everyone, agreed with me that AJ belonged in Michael's life. So, what exactly is all this shit about AJ not caring about Michael? Since when? Does (or did - I'm really hoping he's faked his death) AJ have a dark side? Of course. Would he be above using his kid to get in good with Edward? Of course not, but exactly how was he using Michael? Just having him around the house?
