Beth Chamberlin's contract was not renewed & she is now on recurring status. She plays Beth Raines, the furniture-humping mother of nutcase Lizzie. Beth has been humping the shaggy DA lately (Jeffrey, who used to be RIchard).

You all may remember that Beth once lost her memory and became Lorelei, a wild gal with a fondness for pork rinds and cowboys, who humped her way across the Southwest when BC was offscreen for about 6 weeks (luckily, we didn't have to see the humping part). Chamberlin wrote a silly, sordid book about Lorelei, titled "Lorelei's Diary", which rapidly found it's way to dismal sales and discount bins (& may have helped hasten the dismissal of Paul Rauch as EP, as he liked BC and had encouraged her to write the book).

BC joins Maureen Garrett (Holly, who hasn't been seen in ages) and Liz Keifer (who is in a story now, as a supporting player) in the club of recent cast members who were moved from contract to recurring. There is no word whether it was voluntary or not (on BC's part... the others were not).
