1. I like Dan Gauthier as Kevin. Hurts me to say so, and I still get a cringe factor every time he does that THING WITH HIS FACE, but I think he's the best Kevin since KG, maybe ever. The reason I like him? Number one, he's not Tim Gibbs (fuck you fuck you fuck you JFP). Number two, he plays Kevin like a real person who's not "good" and not "bad" and not "noble" and not "dark." There's no neon sign over this character telling us what we're supposed to think about him. He's, like, a real guy. Complicated in some respects, boring in others, facing what looks like a pretty typical (if amplified a bit) mid-life account-taking, crush on the wife's cousin included. DG is not videogenic, but he is very photogenic, so when I need convincing that he's a handsome guy, I go to the photos on his website.

2. Todd is still an asshole. Blair is still an idiot. And for some reason, no one seems to want to write a decent story for them. This could have played out well. Barebones plot is full of poetry and irony. She won't have him, so he becomes someone else in order to woo her. He almost succeeds, but she rejects him for ... him. Add drama/suspense in that he is racing against time to keep her from finding out that he is HE. This would work for me if not for a couple of really stupid, needless plot points. Kevin should not be involved, except for his own reasons. Blair would be the first person to figure it out (and it would be before they made love). She'd have to see it on him, smell it on him, figure it out for herself. This WOULD have, emphasis on WOULD have, allowed for much sexual tension/teasing between them (and, vicariously, for us viewers) and would not have added the unsavory detail that now Todd has, effectively, raped Blair. Her consent to sex was almost certainly dependent on him NOT being Todd, so her consent isn't valid. Really. Plus, you've got the Kevin factor. Trying to figure out who the strange new rich guy is makes sense for Kevin, as does having a middle-aged yen for Blair. Actually trying to get in Blair's silkies and actually meddling in her life and actually having her respond is gross, stupid, and distracting. I expected so much more.

3. TSJ's Todd is even lamer than end of days RH. I liked him better as Walker. I wish he'd stay Walker and go back to kicking ass.
