Disclaimers first:
1. I like a lot of the Blair haters at ATB and elsewhere. I am not a "love me, love my dog" kind of fan. In fact, I'm something of a fair weather fan.
2. I have never really qualified as a Blair Firster, although she was, once upon a time, one of my favorite characters. I'm a Show Firster.
Now that THAT's out of the way -
For me, there is only one resolution to this story that makes sense for the show as a whole and for Blair, Todd, and Blair and Todd. I would have preferred a different story altogether, but since this is the pile of crap I'm being forcefed, this is the pile of crap I'm going to comment on.
The only way, and I mean the only way, I want to see this story end is with Blair and Todd finally learning their respective lessons and moving on. Together or apart is less important to me than that each finally gets the truth about the situation. Which is that the situation is stupid and boring. Tood lying to Blair. Blair jumping into the arms of the most inappropriate guy available. All that shit has to stop right now. When the (yawn) big reveals get (yawn) revealed, each has to go, oh well, you did it again, but that's who you are, and you're who I love.
THIS time, I UNDERSTAND.
Of course you felt like you couldn't tell me who you are, Todd. You had no reason to think I wouldn't have cut your balls off. Blair, of course you cozied up to my asshole nephew. You felt wronged (because I did wrong you), and you lunged for the slimiest fuckwad within reach, because that's how you've consoled yourself ever since you fried your brain by standing too close to the wigged out faux poet.
The story can go anywhere FROM there. But from where it is now, it either has to go to there (where they FINALLY learn their karmic lessons and get on with their lives), or it has to go to the same place it always goes. In which case, I'm not going with.
They may not learn their lesson, but this fair weather fan has learned hers.
