Let's just use this post to confirm and cheer the differences of what Cabbie and I like in our Todd preferences.....so much is clearer.
Todd as a pychopath.....How friggin boring could you get.
Where would you take this character? There will always be an edge, but not s stupid idiot who never grew up or into his life.....
The romantic, unapologetic man, who loves his woman and wants a family altho the guy has no tools for any of it is compelling.....To see him constantly pycho, the way you like
him would have brought him to Mitch....Being pycho is a difficult thing to top, you keep going and going until there
can be no more TOP. Howarth was never one dimensional. The Hell you would cage him in he was too smart to get in...and now the writers who created him after all won't let him in that cage either.....no safe pretty edges for him not to please you or anyone else.
They brought Todd on to show that the face of evil can have many levels.....layers.....in the original rape story...and that everyone has a hope for love and to belong.Especially when he becomes a fan favorite.... He is written to find that hope and love in Blair and in the family he is to make with her.
Until a certain thug attorney tried and miserably failed to manipulate their worst sides against each other, they had the ups and downs of two fascinating people deeply troubled but endlessly intriguing...and the ratings soared...of course until the aforementioned thug came....same fool who in the end decided FROZEN food offered by Todd wasn't enough
to survive on and the only heat Todd had was for Blair, It decided to finally quit and see he would never be her's//// Thank god. The Todd that could be her's would never have made any sense. The Todd of HER period was the false Todd.
The man so unhappy he was an open nerve and life was sandpaper......ah yes.....
So you see, the clarity of the difference in our preferences in Todd speaks volumes. Todd is playing Paul on the other show, another face for an old character.....and Todd is playing Walker on the OLTL....stay with Howarth....he has become predictable, you'll be safe in the monotone.....I check in occasionally on commercialbreaks from OLTL and see goof Todd in full regalia....but freeze frame later the few snippets of him for his beautiful face and body....he is a looker still. Just a bit of a Toddy One Note even as Paul.
I prefer to grow along with St. John
and Todd.....and his original creators and see how Todd claims what is his.....Blair, played by the fabulous KDP,
Starr played by the extraordinary Kristen, and take his rightful place as the very fucked up but trying Lord Heir.
