And that's what bothers me about this - and after reading some posts on some message boards, your description is what's happening: This is a do-over. They've deleted years (the past seven along with everything that happened in the two years prior to the 1995-Todd-and-Blair-three-month time period) to bring this Wodd and Blair story. They're using some 'trauma' to explain this sudden time warp - and that bothers me. It's NOT Todd to me. I see it in so many posts - looooong winding explanations of how this can happen, how he can suddenly become this great guy, how Todd's suddenly remembered the Todd of three months in 1995 and has forgotten everything ELSE.
Eh...it's just not a Todd that makes sense to me. In my opinion, Todd IS a psychopath (or something very close to it). I like the psychopath - it makes sense to me, it's ALWAYS made sense to me - he started out one, and never got therapized to fix it. 1995Blair'sTodd was NOT a psychopath - he was a romancing, rich guy-who's-got-con-artist-tendencies who matches with and lives for Blair, a con-artist. Wodd is not a psychopath. He's a romancing, rich guy-who's-got-con-artist-tendencies who matches with and lives for Blair, a con-artist. Aggravating to me.
Side note: I like Paul on ATWT. I'm thrilled to watch him without KdP just like I wanted. But I will always love Todd the most - and I can't help but keep an eye out for what's happening with him. And it bothers me that he's being 'messed with'.
The past weeks have really confirmed in my head that TWO Todds were created by OLTL back in the years 1994-1995. And those two Todds are completely and forever opposed. There is NO compromising of the two characterizations. It created a whole NEW Todd fanbase back then that only wanted 1995 Blair-romancing Todd. So the writers will NEVER be able to satisfy the Todd-the-psychopath fans with the Todd-the-Blair-Romancing-Guy fans. It's an impossible task.
The first Todd is a tough road to walk - ABC doesn't want that guy. They constantly tried to meld that guy with the latter (putting Tea in latter 1998 in the Blair position) and it failed and then it failed with Blair again for the past three years. Now it doesn't fail so much because TSt.John is willing to go back in time to the three months and pretend nothing surrounding it happened.
I would say, "There's nothing left to say," but I won't. LOL! I'll always have something to say on Wodd. He's not 1994 Todd that captured my heart and he's not a natural evolution of 1994 Todd. I know who THAT guy is - and he left in 2000.
