Subject: Practical Jokes for Dogs

One morning last week, one of the Siamese Liberation Army came to me in obvious distress. "Yowl," she said. "Yowl, yowl, yowl!"
"Okay," I said, "show me what's wrong." She led me to her water dish, which had a soggy vanilla wafer floating in it. Well, vanilla wafers are the dog's special treat, and he is given them in an area not close to the cat's water dish, but, just this once, I decided to give the dog the benefit of the doubt.
The next morning, the cat came to me again. "YOWL!" she said. "YOWL, YOWL, YOWL!" And, once again, she led me to her water dish, which, once again, had a soggy vanilla wafer in it.
So, I looked around the corner, and there was the dog, practically giggling. I called him gently. "ZEKE! GET YOUR ASS IN HERE!" He came to me with what I can only describe as a smirk on his face. I read him the riot act. Border Collies have huge vocabularies, so he knew exactly what I was saying. Since then, we have had no more cookies in the cat's water dish.
Zeke is my second Border Collie. The first was smarter, but it never occurred to him to play a practical joke. :-/
