Always? What if you were black, and your boss said loudly, "Boy, they sure have been hiring a lot of n***ers around here lately." Would you be offended? What if your boss said that while you were applying for a promotion, and you didn't get the position? Wouldn't you think that would imply you were being discriminated against, even if it wasn't explicit?
